Home Support Workers Full Time

Golden Age Home Care is seeking Home Support Workers to provide personal care and support for elderly clients at various locations in Edmonton, Alberta. This is an on-site position; work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

We offer:

·         Hours: 30 – 40 hours per week

Terms of employment:

·         Full time, permanent position

·         Work schedule: Early morning, Evening, Shift, Morning, Night, Day, Weekend

·         Employment location: Edmonton, AB T6W 4R2

Various locations in Edmonton depending on the client’s residence

·         Weight Handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

Duties and responsibilities:

·         Support the senior with mobility, including safe transfers between bed, chair and other areas of the home

·         Provide assistance with bathing, toileting, dressing, and daily hygiene routines

·         Assist with meals, including preparation, serving and feeding support when necessary

·         Ensure medications are taken correctly and on schedule, including direct assistance when required

·         Encourage and assist with light physical activity such as walking or prescribed exercises

·         Observe and document changes in physical condition, mood or behaviour and report concerns promptly

·         Maintain a clean and organized living environment, including laundry, linen changes and light household tasks

·         Provide attentive companionship and emotional support throughout the day

·         Ensure safety and supervision inside and outside the home

·         Accompany the senior to medical appointments or community activities as needed

·         Follow and maintain the established daily care plan and routine

Qualifications and Skills:

·         Must be able to communicate in English

·         Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

·         1 year to less than 2 years of experience in related occupation/field

·         Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling; Combination of sitting, standing, and walking; Physically demanding work; Repetitive tasks
